Tchekpo Dan Agbetou

“African and Modern Dance originate in the energy of desire, of expression, of the soul. It is the infiniteness of art and movement – the challenge to break through borders.” Tchekpo Dan Agbetou, dancer, choreographer, and instructor, studied dance in Benin/West Africa, and Modern and Jazz Dance, et al., at the Alvin-Ailey-School and Steps on Broadway in New York. He mingles the myths of his African heritage with elements of Classical Ballet and the expressivity of Modern Jazz Dance. His instructional method is supported by the innate character of African Dance and the dynamic of modern western Jazz Dance.
