Lécio Leal

Following a two-year engagement with the Ballet Classico de São Paulo, Lécio Leal worked for the Teatro Municipal de Rio de Janeiro and the Ballet da Cidade de São Paulo. In 1992, he worked at the Stadttheater Pforzheim, in the Ballet Company Schindowski in Gelsenkirchen and at the Städtischen Bühnen in Augsburg.

Since 2001, Lécio is a member of the ensemble at the Gärtnerplatz Theater in Munich. All the time, Lécio has been immersed in Afro-Brazilian Dance styles as well. He directs the Samba Show Espírito da Dança Brasil in Munich since 1998. The down-to-earth quality of Brazilian dance is combined with the spontaneity and playful exuberance of street and beach dances of Brazil. A whirl of different quick basic steps and pulsatory movements bring us closer to the South American lifestyle. Participants learn Samba steps, combined with dance elements found in modern Afro-Brazilian Dance, Samba-Reggae and Funk.
