Jean-Hugues Assohoto
Jean-Hughes concentrates on organically moving through space. His classes are based on a combination of the Limón- and the Release-Technique, floor- and classical techniques. With much emotion and imagination, he wants to prepare the dancers to be multidimensional performers, technically challenging, in relation to the space, to musicality, to rhythm and to the change of dynamics.
After receiving dance instruction at the Conservatory in Avignon, Assohoto has worked with the choreographer Anne-Marie Porras in Montpelier. Engagements at the Mannheimer Nationaltheater and at the Tanztheater Heidelberg, under the direction of Irina Pauls, followed. As a free-lance choreographer, he has directed numerous projects in Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, and Israel and teaches at the Hochschule für Musik and Darstellende Kunst/Frankfurt, as well as the Etage/Berlin. He is presently an instructor at the Staatliche Balletschule Berlin.
