Janderson „Afro“ dos Santos

Born and raised in Salvador da Bahia, Janderson Afro beat the drum for the renowned Afro-Blocos Olodum, Timbalada and Muzenza. At the young age of sixteen, he already started to direct the youth group Projeto Axé. At twenty-one, he went to Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais) in order to create an Afro Dance group with a dancer friend.

He has been living in Munich since 2010 where he works as a percussion teacher and plays in several bands. He says about himself: “My heart is beating in Afro-Brazilian rhythms that I want to convey today in my courses and workshops to people of all nations.”

Additional to his Percussion workshop, he will still be accompanying the workshops of Lécio Leal.
