Eli Ayala

is one of the most prominent dancers in Barcelona. She is currently part of the “Gran Gala Flamenco”, a show that is directed and musically presented by the guitarist Juan Gómez “Chicuelo“. At the “Ciutat Flamenco Festival 2020”, she had her own show, entitled “Retales”. She is a member of Rafael Amargo’s compagnie, where she has performed as soloist and prima ballerina. Eli Ayala`s workshops are dedicated to the motion language of flamenco; she often works with “guajira”, a musical style which found its way from Cuba to Andalusia during the second half of the 19^th century, where it was transferred into the formal language of flamenco. She likes working with the hand fan “abanico” as well as with castanets, combined with the rhythms of the fandango.
