Born and raised in Cuba, Yoyo is a teacher, dancer and choreographer of Salsa, Cuban Folklore, and Modern Dance. Completing his studies at the ISA (Instituto Superior de Arte) in Cuba as the best in his class, he has received numerous awards.

He is internationally known and respected as both a solo dancer and a choreographer. Since 2008, he has been an instructor at the Salsa-Tanzakademie Bremen. Yoyo is not only an excellent and expressive dancer, but an enthusiastic teacher as well, who, in his friendly and patient manner, communicates to his students in his courses the entire diversity of Caribbean dance styles.
