Yesid Chala Puello

Salsa Movement
Colombia/Poland

Born in Cartagena de Idias in Columbia, Yesid started dancing as a child and continued his studies at the National Academy of the Fine Arts in Cartagena. He learned the African-Caribbean dance technique and the Latin-American contemporary dances like salsa, bachata, merengue and cha-cha-cha. He worked as a dancer, among others at the Yambalo Dance Company in Bogotá and has been teaching in Europe on a regular basis since 2006.

With his Latin blood, Yesid has got rhythm, which he always strives to convey to his students with passion and love. He perceives the special character in each dance and knows how to consider and feel it. By doing so, he also takes cultural aspects into account. When it comes to salsa, he puts the emphasis on combining relaxation and movement, on fun and contact with the culture. All parts of the body will be involved in this workshop.
