Vincent Harisdo
incent Harisdo completed his training in various dance disciplines at the “Académie de Danse de Paris Centre”. He has collaborated, among others, with Alvin McDuffy, Koffi Kôko, and Isabelle Cheveau. His dance roots have been enriched and made more accessible through modern techniques. He is convinced that African Dance must be taught as an activity that demands all the energy and skills available.
Vincent Harisdo teaches more than moving the body in his classes. He wants to convey to his pupils an awareness that dance is more than a physical effort. In his workshop, repetition and working on the “core” are combined to enable the body to learn and to internalize. The positioning of the body within the space plays as much an integral role as the development of one’s own dance language.
