Maya Lipsker
Maya Lipsker is a choreographer, dancer and instructor. She began her teaching career as a “Gaga” instructor in Israel while she was dancing for the Batsheva Ensemble Company (2002-2003). In 2004, she moved to Europe, developing her own choreographies and teaching methods. She received an artistic scholarship for the Berliner Tanzstudio Dock11 (2004-2006) and staged independent works all over Europe while teaching. Since 2006, she has collaborated with the composer Roy Carroll.
Maya sees the body as an instrument of imagination, the senses, music, and being within a group. Curiosity and a love for experimentation allow room to discover energies in different layers and manifestations. Conscience, attentive, and playful, she looks to find joy in dance – not only in itself but also in its composition in space.
Maya Lipsker was at the Tanzfestival Bielefeld 2012.
