Jennifer Blasek

Classical Ballet
Canada/France

The native Canadian received her dance training at the School of Dance of the Parisian Opera under the direction of Claude Bessy from 1985 to 1991. Her career as a dancer started with Germinal Casado at the Badisches Staatstheater of Karlsruhe when she was 17 years old. Three years later, she obtained an engagement as soloist at the National Ballet of Nancy under the direction of Pierre Lacotte, for whom she danced as first soloist for 12 seasons. In 2007, she completed her National Diploma of Ballet Pedagogy. Since November 2013, she has taught Classical Dance as a professor of Cultural Education at the Conservatory of Nancy.

Jennifer’s way of teaching very much reflects both her experience and personality. She is enthusiastic about conveying the cultural heritage she received from the great masters of classical dance during her education at the Parisian Opera, and about sharing the artistic wealth of her career as a choreographic artist with amateurs as well as with professional dancers.
