Alex Frei

The dancer and musical performer Alex Frei was born in Locarno, Switzerland and studied dance in Munich with Bob Fosse’s assistant, at the Kunsthochschule in Amsterdam, and at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in New York. He has danced in various notable companies, such as Béjart Ballet Lausanne and has worked with numerous choreographers. His list of musical appearances includes My Fair Lady, Fiddler on the Roof, Marilyn-the Musical, La Cage aux Folles and CATS. Alex teaches Modern-Dance technique in the Lester Horton and Bob Fosse style.

His classes are defined by multi-faceted creativity, lively spiritedness, musicality, and sparkling energy. His teaching career at numerous academies and dance studios has taken him throughout Europe and North America. In 2010/11 he also was a member of the instructional team at the Tring Park School of Performing Arts in London and was a guest instructor at the Laban Conservatoire and DV8 Physical Theatre.
