Using poetry and humour, [Oups+Opus] portrays the ups and downs of a couple’s relationship, sustaining the drama with precise and energetic movements to create a  captivating interpretation of their journey.

From sweet naïve touches to unbridled passion, the dance is inspired by everyday gestures, transforming them into analternative sign language. The soundtrack is put together live by a talentedc omposer, using the recordings of the dancer’s rhythms, breathing, voices and steps. The duet plays with contrasts whether they are playful or sombre, their approach is always satirical.

Dancing as a necessity, serving a story and a testament

[oups] plays with the clumsiness of the early stage of the relationship, while [opus] foils the anticipated ending. The conclusion, where both dancers fall apart, erase themselves and escape from what they have been to reach what they may become, is expressed with two sumptuous solos.
